About

Welcome, newcomer!

I’m really glad to have you here! And if you’re looking to learn more about investing in both traditional and alternative asset classes, you will be just as pleased.

What is MonkWealth?

At its core, MonkWealth is a blog where I write about my approach to personal finance, risk taking, and committing to smart investments. I go deep in subjects such as wealth accumulation (managing income), saving (managing expenses), and investing (managing savings).

Writing about financial planning and decisions naturally touches subjects from various aspects of life – starting from career and housing all the way to determining a risk tolerance and building a globally diversified portfolio of multiple asset classes accordingly. Over time, you’ll have an in-depth overview of my thoughts on all of those and many more.

But it won’t be all about me

I want even the casual reader to find value in the information provided.

I want to help beginners kick-start their investment journey and provide clarity to the confused. To take the readers from thinking “if I have started earlier…” to actually starting earlier – now.

I want the veteran investors and those already pursuing FIRE (financial independence/retiring early) to experience a point of view that will supplement or challenge their ways.

In summary: I want this to be for my readers as much as it is for me.

I’d be extremely happy if this blog changes at least one life for the better (Edit: confirmed, it did). And make no mistake, exploring the depths of FIRE and long-term investing is a life-changing experience.

I sometimes call it a real-life cheat code.

Who am I?

I’m The Monk.

  • An advocate of smart financial and investment decisions, all converging to the single goal of financial freedom.
  • The author behind MonkWealth and Become an Investor, promoting self-reliance with a philosophic twist to accumulating long-term wealth.
  • An investor managing a broadly diversified portfolio of various asset classes, mostly stocks and cryptocurrency.
  • Helping people succeed in areas ranging from saving, investing, and financial independence to living a productive and fulfilling life.

That being said, I’m neither retired nor I have it all figured out. However, I decided not to wait for a decade and start writing using hindsight. I want to show you that even at a relatively young age, being financially literate can put you way ahead in life. Witnessing the process, apart from entertainment value, can be educational for many.

Welcome to MonkWealth,

The Monk
